Nathan Trasoras flies through the air and glides across the stage with such compacted energy that he looks like a lightning bolt tearing through the sky at midnight. His naturally seamless turns are drenched with a sensual quality so fantastic, he had So You Think You Can Dance judge, Nigel Lythgoe exclaiming that he has “one of the best centers that [they’ve] had on the program, like [former contestants] Travis [Wall] and Danny [Tidwell].”

Nathan was immediately presented with a golden ticket straight to Las Vegas after his dazzling solo during the Los Angeles SYTYCD audition last season. There was one detrimental downfall: at the time of Nathan’s audition, he was only 17-yearsold. The now 18-year-old and current SYTYCD Season 6 contestant from Downey, California skyrocketed once he appeared on the show, and also on America’s Got Talent only a few short months later.

Nathan accidentally bumped into a couple of SYTYCD producers while walking through the halls of their shared production studios with American’s Got Talent in L.A. “Oops,” Nathan told Movmnt, “I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to be on both shows at the same time.” Needless to say he’s been busy.

Not only is he making a name for himself on TV, but he choreographs, teaches, and takes class all over the greater Los Angeles area. Nathan’s hip-hop master class at Twitch is silky smooth with a hint of locking. Proving his diversity, he brings to life raw passion and emotion through contemporary dance that is flexible and poised, reflecting an inner light directly from his personality. “I really try to make the best out of everything,” said Nathan during his SYTYCD interview, “and try to become the better person.”

Nathan took class with Kherington, of SYTYCD Season 5, at Dance Precisions in Orange County, and in 2008 was Runner Up for LA Music Center’s Spotlight Award in Non-Classical Dance. Before this, he won the title of Teen Mr. Starpower and performed in the Teen Division for Jazz in Canada’s Hall of Fame Dance Challenge.

One solo that Nathan performed, choreographed by Leo Morimune in 2008 for the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge in California named “Sorry, So Sorry,” was a tear-jerking performance. This dancer has an eerie way of tapping into our souls and bringing to life emotions that we try so hard to lock up tight.

Presently, Nathan collaborates and freestyles with Quest Crew from America’s Best Dance Crew as well as Boogiezone, Vibe, and Elevation dance studios in Southern California. And, between hanging out with friends and family, Nathan loves to get outside for some jet-skiing or time on the beach. When he’s feeling frisky, he likes to unleash his gamer side by playing Halo 3 or Call of Duty, according to his Twitter. He graduated from Orange County High School of the Arts and has a solid contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop background, the guiding energy behind his eclectic mix of styles and genres. And even though Nathan almost gave up, his brother pushed him to do just one more year of dance. He obviously stuck with it after that, and has been dancing ever since. “I quit dancing in 8th grade,” Nathan said in an interview for SYTYCD. “People would continuously make fun of me.”

He’s modest and humble, continuing to be surprised when he learns that he is becoming a wellknown dancer and choreographer. He’s got a glow that envelopes all around him while he’s dancing and he’s showing no signs of stopping.
